Our culture teaches us to fear suffering, ageing and death as though they were the end of everything.
Mary points beyond the grave.
She reminds us that our true homeland is heaven.
If we praise Mary while refusing God’s will, we have missed precisely what Jesus praises in His Mother.
Intercessions for the 21st Sunday of Ordinary Time, 23rd August
Peter identifies Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus entrusts Peter with a special mission in His Church, emphasising faith’s importance and the Church’s enduring strength.
