The final word about Mary is not Calvary.
It is glory.
The final word about the Christian is not the grave.
It is glory.
And the source of that glory is Jesus Christ.

For the salvation of souls and the glory of God
The final word about Mary is not Calvary.

Our culture tells us to belong to ourselves.
Mary teaches us to belong to God.
Our culture tells us to protect ourselves from sacrifice.
Mary teaches us to say, “Let it be done to me according to your word.”
Our culture teaches us to fear suffering, ageing and death as though they were the end of everything.
Mary points beyond the grave.
She reminds us that our true homeland is heaven.

We can postpone repentance.
We can tell ourselves that there will always be another opportunity.
But conversion cannot safely be postponed. Today is the day to return to God.
God knows those who remain faithful.
He sees those who refuse to make peace with sin.
This mysterious mark points towards the Cross.
