Intercessions for the Ascension of the Lord, 14th May 2026

Priest:
Brothers and sisters,
as Christ our King ascends in glory to the right hand of the Father, let us bring before Him the prayers of the Church and the world.

Reader:
For the holy Catholic Church:
that she may faithfully proclaim Christ crucified, risen, and reigning, leading all peoples to the truth of the Gospel and the hope of heaven.
Lord, hear us.

Reader:
For our Holy Father, our bishops, and all who preach and teach the Faith:
that strengthened by the Holy Spirit, they may guide the people of God with courage, fidelity, and wisdom.
Lord, hear us.

Reader:
For the nations of the world and those who govern them:
that they may recognise that all authority comes ultimately from God, and work for justice, peace, and the dignity of every human person.
Lord, hear us.

Reader:
For those who feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or lost:
that the Ascension of Christ may lift their hearts toward heaven and remind them that our true home is with God.
Lord, hear us.

Reader:
For our parish community:
that remaining faithful to prayer, the sacraments, and the teaching of the Church, we may live boldly under the kingship of Christ.
Lord, hear us.

Reader:
For those preparing for Baptism, Confirmation, or reception into the Church:
that they may be strengthened in faith and drawn ever more deeply into the life of Christ and His Church.
Lord, hear us.

Reader:
For the faithful departed:
that Christ the King, who has ascended in glory, may bring them into the fullness of His heavenly Kingdom.
Lord, hear us.

Reader:
Let us now pause and offer in silence the prayers we hold in our hearts.

We ask the prayers of Our Lady, Queen of Heaven.

Father,
your Son has ascended in glory
and reigns at your right hand.
Hear the prayers we place before you
and keep us faithful to Christ our King,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
