Priest: Brothers and sisters, as we listen to the teaching of Christ
and learn the way of true blessedness, let us bring our prayers before the Father
with humility and trust.

For the Church throughout the world:
that she may live the Beatitudes faithfully,
trusting not in power or prestige
but in humility, mercy, and love,
and so be a clear sign of God’s kingdom.
Lord, hear us.

For leaders in the Church and in the world:
that they may serve with wisdom and humility,
work for justice and peace,
and always respect the dignity of every human person.
Lord, hear us.

For the poor in spirit, the sorrowful, and all who struggle:
that they may know the comfort of God’s presence
and find hope through the care and compassion of others.
Lord, hear us.

For this parish community:
that we may hunger for what is right,
be merciful and pure of heart,
and live the Beatitudes in our daily lives.
Lord, hear us.

For our faithful departed:
that all who trusted in the Lord in this life
may share in the joy of the kingdom of heaven.
Lord, hear us.

Let us now pause and offer in silence
the prayers we hold in our hearts.

(Silent prayer)

Let us now entrust these prayers,
and all that we hold in our hearts,
to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Heavenly Father,
you reveal true happiness
to those who trust in you.
Hear the prayers we make in faith,
through Christ our Lord.
