Sent to Live and Share the Faith
Opening Prayer
Lord Jesus,
You call us not only to follow You
but to share You.
Help us live our faith with courage.
Teach us to be faithful witnesses
in our daily lives.
Amen.
Part One
Sent by Christ
At the end of the Gospel of Matthew,
Jesus says to His disciples:
“Going therefore, teach ye all nations.”
He does not say this only to priests
or missionaries.
He speaks to the whole Church.
Every Christian is sent.
Mission does not always mean
travelling far away.
It means living the faith
where we are.
At home.
At school.
In friendships.
In ordinary life.
When we belong to Christ,
our lives become a witness.
Scripture
“Going therefore, teach all nations.”
(Matthew 28:19)
Think and Discuss
What does it mean to be “sent”?
Can children share the faith? How?
Is speaking about faith always with words?
How can actions speak loudly?
Allow thoughtful answers.
Part Two
Witness by Life
Mission begins with example.
When we are honest,
others notice.
When we forgive,
others see something different.
When we pray before meals,
when we speak kindly,
when we defend someone who is ignored,
we show Christ.
Sometimes mission includes words.
We may explain why we go to Mass.
We may say we believe in God.
We may invite someone to church.
We do not force anyone.
We witness gently and faithfully.
The Holy Spirit works in hearts.
Our role is to be faithful.
Guidance for Adults
Encourage confidence without pressure.
Mission grows naturally from conviction and joy.
Part Three
Courage and Charity
Mission requires courage.
Not loud courage.
Faithful courage.
There may be moments when:
Someone makes fun of faith.
It is easier to stay silent.
It feels uncomfortable to stand out.
The Holy Spirit strengthens us.
Mission also requires charity.
We do not argue harshly.
We do not boast.
We speak and act with respect.
Every baptised person has a mission.
God has placed each of us
in a particular family,
school,
friendship group.
We are there for a reason.
Our lives can reflect Christ.
Mission is not something extra.
It is part of being Christian.
Holiness flows outward.
Faith is meant to be shared.
Quiet Reflection
Sit quietly for a moment.
Think of one place you go regularly.
How could you live your faith there more clearly?
Now say quietly:
“Lord, send me.”
Remain in silence together.
Practise This Week
Choose one:
• Speak kindly when others do not.
• Invite someone to Mass or prayer.
• Explain gently why faith matters to you.
• Pray for someone who does not know Christ.
Choose one and keep it steady.
Optional Response
Choose one:
Memory
Repeat slowly:
“Teach all nations.”
Say it three times thoughtfully.
Action
Make the Sign of the Cross and say:
“Lord, use me.”
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for calling us.
Give us courage to live and share our faith.
Help us be faithful witnesses
wherever we are.
Amen.
