GROW IN FAITH 48 – The New Creation

God Makes All Things New

Opening Prayer

Lord God,
You are the beginning and the end.
Help us trust in Your promise
to make all things new.
Keep our hearts faithful
until that day comes.
Amen.

Part One

The Story Is Not Over

The Bible begins with creation.

God made the world good.

But sin entered.

Suffering entered.
Death entered.
Confusion entered.

God did not abandon His creation.

He sent His Son.
He redeemed the world.
He conquered sin and death.

But history is still moving.

The Bible ends with a promise:

“Behold, I make all things new.”

God’s plan is not to destroy everything.

It is to renew everything.

Scripture

“Behold, I make all things new.”
(Apocalypse 21:5)

Think and Discuss

Why would God renew creation instead of abandoning it?

What does it mean to make something “new”?

How does hope for renewal change how we treat the world now?

Why is this promise important?

Allow thoughtful answers.

Part Two

A New Heaven and a New Earth

At the end of time,
Christ will come again.

There will be a final judgment.

The dead will be raised.

And God will establish
a new heaven and a new earth.

This does not mean
a completely different world.

It means this world,
purified and transformed.

No more suffering.
No more injustice.
No more tears.

The Bible says:

“God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”

The saints will rejoice.
Creation will be restored.
God will dwell fully with His people.

This is the fulfilment
of everything we hope for.

Guidance for Adults

Keep imagery simple and hopeful.
Avoid speculation; stay close to Scripture and promise.

Part Three

Living in Hope Now

The promise of a new creation
does not make us careless.

It makes us responsible.

If God will renew the world,
then creation matters.

If justice will be fulfilled,
then justice matters now.

If love will last forever,
then love is never wasted.

Christian hope is not pretending
that suffering does not exist.

It is trusting
that suffering does not have the final word.

We live between
Christ’s Resurrection
and His return.

We wait with faith.
We act with charity.
We persevere with hope.

Every Mass whispers this promise.

Every act of love points toward it.

God began the story in goodness.

He will finish it in glory.

Quiet Reflection

Sit quietly for a moment.

Imagine a world without fear,
without sorrow,
without death.

Now say quietly:

“Lord, renew all things.”

Remain in silence together.

Practise This Week

Choose one:

• Care for creation in a small way.
• Perform one act of justice or kindness.

“I make all things new.”

Closing Prayer

Lord,
You are faithful to Your promises.
Strengthen our hope in the new creation.
Help us live faithfully now
until You make all things new.
