Intercessions – 2 Sunday in Lent

Priest:
Brothers and sisters, as we journey with Christ toward the glory of the resurrection and hear the call to listen to Him, let us place our prayers before God with trust and humility.

For the Church throughout the world:
that she may listen faithfully to Christ her Lord, and lead all people from the darkness of sin into the light of His truth.
Lord, hear us.

For those who govern nations and communities:
that they may seek not their own glory but the good of those they serve, and work for justice, peace, and the dignity of every human life.
Lord, hear us.

For those who struggle with fear, doubt, or suffering for the sake of the Gospel:
that the Lord who revealed His glory on the mountain may strengthen them to persevere in faith and hope.
Lord, hear us.

For the sick, the suffering, and the lonely, and for those who have died:
that Christ who has conquered death may bring healing to the living and eternal rest to the dead.
Lord, hear us.

For this parish community in this season of Lent:
that we may learn to listen to Christ more deeply, to trust God’s call as Abraham did, and to walk faithfully toward the cross and the resurrection.
Lord, hear us.

Let us now pause and offer in silence the prayers we hold in our hearts.
(silent prayer)

Let us entrust these prayers to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

All:
Hail Mary…

Priest:
Father of mercy,
you call us from darkness into your marvellous light.
Hear the prayers we make in faith,
and lead us through this holy season
into the glory of your Son,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
