Intercessions – 26 October 2025

Priest: Brothers and sisters, the Lord listens to the prayer of the humble
and does not despise the cry of the poor. With confidence, let us bring our prayers before Him.

For the Church:
That the Church may be a home for the humble and a refuge for sinners —
a place where mercy is preached, lived, and celebrated.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For our Holy Father, bishops, and priests:
That they may proclaim God’s mercy with courage and live it with humility,
so that the Gospel may shine through their service.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For our world:
That leaders and nations may learn the greatness of humility
and work for justice that uplifts the poor, the voiceless, and the forgotten.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For those who feel far from God:
For the sinner who thinks there’s no way back,
for the proud who have forgotten to kneel —
that the Spirit may touch every heart with the courage to say,
“Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner.”
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For those who suffer injustice, poverty, or ridicule:
That their prayers, which pierce the clouds,
may bring down the justice and mercy of God upon this world.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For our parish community:
That we may never look down on others,
but learn to look up to God together —
forgiving, listening, and serving one another in love.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

For the faithful departed:
That those who have run the race and kept the faith
may now receive the crown of righteousness prepared for them.
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

Let us pray in silence for the intentions we bring to this Mass —
for those who have asked our prayers, and for the grace of true humility.
(Pause)
Lord, in your mercy: Hear our prayer.

Let us greet our Lady as we say: Hail Mary…

Priest:
Merciful Father, You resist the proud but give grace to the humble.
Hear the prayers we offer from our hearts, and make us, like the tax collector in the Gospel,
justified by Your mercy and renewed by Your grace.Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
