Priest: My dear Brothers and Sisters, as the time of Christ’s suffering and death draws nearer, let us ask the Father to lead us through the dark moments of the Passover of His Son
to the glory of His resurrection.
Reader: For the Holy Church of God,
that she may proclaim with confidence that Christ is the resurrection and the life,
calling all people from the darkness of sin into the freedom of new life.
Lord hear us
Reader: For all the peoples of the world,
that those who govern may seek what serves life, justice and peace,
and work for the dignity of every human person.
Lord hear us
Reader: For the dying,
that they may pass peacefully and confidently through the gates of death
to meet Him who is the resurrection and the life.
Lord hear us
Reader: For those who mourn,
that the Christ who wept for Lazarus His friend
may console them in their grief and strengthen their hope.
Lord hear us
Reader: For our beloved sick,
that Christ may strengthen them in their trials
and fill them with the hope of His healing presence.
Lord hear us
Reader: For the faithful departed,
that the Lord who called Lazarus from the tomb
may raise them to eternal life in the kingdom of His glory,
especially Molly Bailey and those whose anniversaries occur at this time.
Lord hear us
Reader: We ask Blessed Mary, Help of Sinners,
to pray for us as we say:
Hail Mary…
Reader: In silence we make our own petitions to God.
(silent prayer)
Priest:
Father, hear the prayers of your Church.
Bring forth to resurrection
the people who trust in your promises.
We ask this, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
