Intercessions for the Fifth Week of Ordinary Time 2026

Priest: Brothers and sisters, called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world,
let us bring our prayers before God with trust and confidence.

For the Church throughout the world:
that she may be a light to the nations, living and proclaiming the Gospel with clarity,
so that the truth of Christ may be made visible through holiness of life.
Lord, hear us.

For those who govern nations and communities:
that they may act with justice and compassion, protect the dignity of the poor and vulnerable,
and work for peace and the common good.
Lord, hear us.

For those who suffer through poverty, illness, or loneliness:
that they may be strengthened by God’s presence
and supported through the loving service of others.
Lord, hear us.

For this parish community:
that we may live as salt and light in the world,
allowing our faith to shape our words and actions, so that God may be glorified in all we do.
Lord, hear us.

For our faithful departed:
that all who have died in the hope of Christ may share fully in the light of eternal life.
Lord, hear us.

Let us now pause and offer in silence
the prayers we hold in our hearts.

(Silent prayer)

Let us entrust these prayers,
and all that we carry in our hearts,
to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

All:
Hail Mary…

Priest:
Heavenly Father,
you call us out of darkness into your light.
Hear the prayers we make in faith,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
