Priest:
Brothers and sisters, as Christ opens the eyes of the blind and calls us to live as children of the light, let us place our prayers before the Father with trust and joy.
For the Church throughout the world:
that she may walk in the light of Christ and lead all people from the darkness of sin into the truth and freedom of the Gospel.
Lord, hear us.
For those who govern nations and shape public life:
that they may choose what is good and right and true, and work for justice, peace, and respect for every human person.
Lord, hear us.
For those who live in spiritual darkness through doubt, fear, or sin:
that Christ, the light of the world, may open their hearts to faith and bring them to new life.
Lord, hear us.
For the sick, the suffering, and the lonely, and for those who have died:
that the Lord who gives sight to the blind may bring healing to the living and eternal light to the dead.
Lord, hear us.
For this parish community as we continue our Lenten journey:
that we may live as children of the light, bearing fruit in goodness, righteousness, and truth.
Lord, hear us.
Let us now pause and offer in silence the prayers we hold in our hearts.
(silent prayer)
Let us entrust these prayers to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
All:
Hail Mary…
Priest:
Father of light and mercy,
you have called us out of darkness into your marvellous light.
Hear the prayers we make in faith,
and lead us safely to the joy of Easter,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
