Priest: Brothers and sisters, on this holy night when Christ gives His Church the Eucharist, the priesthood, and the commandment of love, let us place our prayers before the Father with trust and humility.
For the Church throughout the world:
that she may treasure with ever deeper faith the gift of the Holy Eucharist, and draw all people to Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.
Lord, hear us.
For bishops and priests, and for those whom God is calling to the priesthood:
that they may be faithful servants of the altar, and that the Lord may raise up generous men to feed His people with the Bread of Life.
Lord, hear us.
For the nations of the world and those who govern them:
that Christ, who gives Himself for the life of the world, may lead them in the ways of justice, peace, and sacrificial service.
Lord, hear us.
For the sick, the suffering, and those who feel forgotten or alone:
that the Lord who knelt to serve His disciples may strengthen them, comfort them, and make His presence known to them.
Lord, hear us.
For this parish community:
that in receiving the Body and Blood of Christ we may be drawn more deeply into His love, and become a people marked by humility, charity, and thanksgiving.
Lord, hear us.
Let us now pause and offer in silence the prayers we hold in our hearts.
(silent prayer)
Let us entrust these prayers to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
All:
Hail Mary…
Priest:
Father of mercy,
on this night your Son gave Himself to the Church
as sacrifice, food, and abiding presence.
Hear the prayers we make in faith,
and keep us close to the altar of Christ,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
