Priest: On the feast of Saint John Bosco, a father and teacher of the young,
let us bring our prayers before God who calls all people to holiness and joy.
For the Church throughout the world:
that she may continue the mission of Saint John Bosco,
proclaiming Christ with love, patience, and hope,
especially to the young and the forgotten.
Lord, hear us.
For all young people:
that they may be protected from harm,
guided by good examples,
and helped to discover their God-given dignity and vocation.
Lord, hear us.
For parents, teachers, and those who care for the young:
that they may be strengthened with wisdom, patience, and charity
as they form hearts and minds in truth and love.
Lord, hear us.
For this parish of Saint John Bosco:
that we may grow as a community of welcome, joy, and faith,
serving Christ by serving one another,
especially the most vulnerable.
Lord, hear us.
For our faithful departed:
that all who have died,
especially those who have served the young,
may share in the joy of eternal life.
Lord, hear us.
Let us now pause and offer in silence
the prayers we hold in our hearts.
(Silent prayer)
Let us entrust these prayers,
and all that we carry in our hearts,
to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
whom Saint John Bosco loved so deeply.
All:
Hail Mary…
Priest:
Loving Father,
you gave Saint John Bosco a heart for the young.
Hear the prayers we make in faith,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
