Priest: Brothers and sisters, as we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord and remember our own baptism into Christ, let us bring our prayers before the Father who calls us His beloved children.
That the Church, reborn in water and the Holy Spirit,
may faithfully proclaim Christ to the world
and lead many to new life through the sacraments.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
That the nations of the world may recognise the dignity of every human person,
work for justice and peace,
and be open to the saving work of God.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
That all who have been baptised into Christ
may live faithfully as children of God,
renouncing sin and growing in holiness and charity.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
For those preparing for baptism,
and for those who have drifted from the life of faith:
that the Lord may draw them back to Himself
and renew in them the grace of baptism.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
For those who have died,
especially those of our parish and families:
that, having passed through the waters of death,
they may enter the fullness of life with Christ.
Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.
Let us now pause in silence
and place our own intentions
before the Father who has claimed us as His children.
(silence)
We ask the prayers of Mary,
Mother of the Beloved Son,
and Mother of the baptised:
Hail Mary…
Priest:
Father of mercy and love, You revealed Your Son at the Jordan and claimed us as Your children through baptism. Hear the prayers we have offered in faith and grant them according to Your will. Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
