Intercessions – Third Sunday in Lent

Priest:
Brothers and sisters, as we meet Christ at the well and hear His promise of living water, let us place our prayers before God with trust and humility.

For the Church throughout the world:
that she may lead all people to Christ, the source of living water, and call them to true worship in spirit and in truth.
Lord, hear us.

For the nations of the world and those who govern them:
that they may seek justice and peace, and work for the good of all, especially the poor and the forgotten.
Lord, hear us.

For those who thirst for meaning, forgiveness, or hope:
that they may encounter Christ who knows their hearts and offers mercy and new life.
Lord, hear us.

For the sick, the suffering, and the lonely, and for those who have died:
that Christ who gives living water may bring healing to the living and eternal rest to the dead.
Lord, hear us.

For this parish community in this season of Lent:
that our prayer, fasting, and charity may be sincere, and that we may turn away from what cannot satisfy and drink deeply from the grace of God.
Lord, hear us.

Let us now pause and offer in silence the prayers we hold in our hearts.
(silent prayer)

Let us entrust these prayers to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

All:
Hail Mary…

Priest:
Merciful Father,
you alone can satisfy the deepest thirst of the human heart.
Hear the prayers we make in faith,
and lead us to the fullness of life
in your Son, Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
