Seeker Track – Just Teach Sheet
September Week 4
Theme: Faith & Belonging to the Church
Audience: Seekers, Non-Catholics, or Returning Catholics
Focus: Catholic faith is not just Sunday worship but a way of life — forgiving, serving, and witnessing in daily life.
Weekly Goal
To show that Catholic faith is lived every day, not only in church. Belonging to the Church means belonging to Christ’s Body, which shapes the way we live at home, at work, and in the world.
What You’ll Need
This sheet
Bible
Notebook for questions/reflections
Opening Prayer (Daily)
Lord Jesus,
You call me not only to believe in You,
but to live as part of Your Church every day.
Teach me to love, forgive, and serve,
and to find the joy of belonging to Your family. Amen.
Day 1 – Faith Is a New Way of Life
Teaching:
Being Catholic is not just believing in ideas. It is a whole new way of life.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”
Reflection:
To become Catholic is not to “add Sunday church.” It is to live differently every day.
Questions:
Do I see faith as just a Sunday activity, or a way of life?
What would change in my daily life if I belonged fully to the Church?
Day 2 – Forgiving Others
Teaching:
Jesus taught forgiveness as essential, not optional.
Matthew 6:14 – “If you forgive others, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
Reflection:
The Church is a family. Families sometimes hurt each other — but forgiveness makes us whole.
Questions:
Is there someone I need to forgive?
Could God’s grace help me do what I cannot do alone?
Day 3 – Serving the Poor
Teaching:
The Catholic Church has always been known for her service — hospitals, schools, charity for the poor. Serving is not “extra,” it is core to the faith.
Matthew 25:40 – “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me.”
Reflection:
When Catholics feed the hungry or care for the sick, they are serving Christ Himself.
Questions:
What do I think of a Church that sees Jesus in the poor?
How could I take a step to serve someone this week?
Day 4 – Living Differently in the World
Teaching:
Being Catholic means standing out. In the early Church, Christians were known for love, honesty, and courage.
Matthew 5:14 – “You are the light of the world.”
Reflection:
Faith is not private. Belonging to the Church means being a visible witness.
Questions:
Do I hide faith out of fear or shame?
What would it take for me to live faith openly?
Day 5 – Sent to Witness
Teaching:
At every Mass, Catholics are sent to live and share their faith. The Church exists not just for herself but for mission.
1 Peter 3:15 – “Always be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in you.”
Reflection:
To belong to the Church is to be a missionary, whether in the home, the workplace, or the world.
Questions:
If someone asked why I was interested in Catholicism, what would I say?
Am I ready to take one small step of witness?
Weekend Wrap-Up – Faith in Daily Life
Catholic faith is not a hobby but a way of life.
Forgiveness, service, and witness mark the true disciple.
Belonging to the Church means living like Christ every day.
Reflection:
If I am attracted to Catholicism, am I also ready for a new way of life, not just Sunday worship?
Journal Prompts
“What attracts me to the Catholic way of life is…”
“The hardest part for me would be…”
“One step I could take this week is…”
Apologetics for Seekers
“Isn’t religion just private prayer?”
→ No. Christ founded a visible Church with a way of life. Catholicism is not only worship, but living love and truth in daily life.
“Isn’t being good enough?”
→ Good works are important, but without Christ and His Church, they lack the fullness of grace. Salvation is in Christ through His Body, the Church.
“Why do Catholics talk about service so much?”
→ Because Christ identified Himself with the poor (Matt 25:40). To serve them is to serve Him.
