Children’s Track – Just Teach Sheet
January Week 2 (2026)
Theme: Baptism and New Life in Christ
Focus: The Signs of Baptism – Water, Light, and New Life
Audience: Children (Ages 6–10) with parent or guardian
Weekly Goal
To help the child understand that God teaches us through signs.
In Baptism, water and light are not decorations — they mean something real.
This week helps parents explain Baptism simply and truthfully, using signs children already understand.

This sheet
A Bible or children’s Bible
A bowl of water
A candle (real or battery)
A quiet space
Opening Prayer (Daily)
Loving God,
thank You for giving us signs we can see and understand.
Help us learn what You do for us through Baptism
and how You give us new life.
Amen.
Day 1 – God Uses Signs to Teach Us
Teaching (for parents to say aloud)
God knows that children learn by seeing and touching.
That’s why He uses signs — things we can see — to teach us invisible truths.
Jesus Himself used signs: water, bread, light, and touch.
John 3:5
“No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.”
Mini reflection
God teaches us in ways we can understand.
Questions to ask the child
What signs do we use every day?
What does water help us do?
Practice
Let the child dip their fingers in water and say:
“God teaches me through signs.”
Day 2 – Water Gives Life and Cleans
Teaching
Water helps things grow.
Water cleans what is dirty.
Without water, nothing lives.
That is why God uses water in Baptism.
Acts 22:16
“Be baptised and wash away your sins.”
Mini reflection
God uses water to show us new life and forgiveness.
Questions
What happens when plants don’t get water?
How does water help us every day?
Practice
Wash hands together slowly and say:
“God gives me new life.”
Day 3 – Baptism Means New Life
Teaching
In Baptism, God gives us new life.
This does not mean we become a different person —
it means God fills our life with His grace.
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Anyone in Christ is a new creation.”
Mini reflection
God’s life helps us grow from the inside.
Questions
What does it mean to grow?
How can we grow closer to God?
Practice
Draw a growing plant and write:
“God helps me grow.”
Day 4 – Light Shows Us the Way
Teaching
Light helps us see.
It keeps us from getting lost.
Jesus calls Himself the Light of the world.
John 8:12
“I am the light of the world.”
At Baptism, a candle reminds us that Jesus’ light is given to us.
Mini reflection
God’s light helps us choose what is good.
Questions
How does light help us?
When do we need light most?
Practice
Light a candle and say together:
“Jesus is my light.”
Day 5 – Living as Children of the Light
Teaching
God’s light helps us live kindly, truthfully, and lovingly.
We do not always get things right, but God helps us keep going.
Ephesians 5:8
“Live as children of light.”
Mini reflection
God’s light helps us choose love.
