Teen Track
November Week 1
Theme: The Mass & the Eucharist
Focus: Christ Truly Present – Source of My Strength
Audience: Teens (13–18) – Faith Formation / Confirmation Prep
Weekly Goal
To understand that the Eucharist is not a symbol but the Real Presence of Jesus Christ — His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity — given to strengthen us in our daily battles, relationships, and faith.
What You’ll Need
This sheet
Bible
Journal or notes app
Optional: attend a weekday Mass or spend 10 minutes in Adoration
Opening Prayer (Daily)
Lord Jesus,
You said, “This is My Body.”
Help me to believe that You are really here —
not far away, but truly present in the Eucharist.
Give me the strength to live my faith with courage and love.
Amen.
Day 1 – Jesus Is Really There
Teaching:
At the Last Supper, Jesus didn’t say “This is a sign of My body.” He said “This is My Body.”
At every Mass, when the priest says those same words, the bread and wine become Christ Himself.
Luke 22:19–20 – “This is My Body… This cup is the new covenant in My Blood.”
CCC 1374 – “The Body and Blood, together with the Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, are truly, really, and substantially contained in the Eucharist.”
Reflection:
If this is true, then the Mass isn’t just a nice ceremony — it’s a miracle happening in front of us.
Ask yourself:
Do I really believe Jesus is there on the altar?
How would I act differently if I did?
Day 2 – The Mass Makes the Cross Present
Teaching:
The Eucharist isn’t a re-sacrifice of Jesus, but the one sacrifice of the Cross made present for us now.
Time doesn’t limit God — at Mass, we stand at Calvary, receiving the fruits of that same offering.
1 Corinthians 11:26 – “Whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.”
CCC 1367 – “The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice.”
Reflection:
At Mass, heaven and earth meet. The Cross is not past — it is alive, saving you today.
Ask yourself:
What part of the Mass reminds me that it’s a sacrifice, not just a meal?
What do I want to offer with Jesus at the altar this week?
Day 3 – Communion: Strength for the Journey
Teaching:
Receiving Holy Communion isn’t just about feeling close to God — it’s real union with Christ. He feeds our soul the way food feeds our body.
John 6:51 – “I am the living bread that came down from heaven… whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
CCC 1391 – “Holy Communion augments our union with Christ.”
Reflection:
When you receive the Eucharist, you’re not symbolically remembering Jesus — you’re receiving Him.
Ask yourself:
What do I need Jesus’ strength for right now?
How do I prepare my heart before receiving Communion?
Day 4 – Adoration: Loving the Lord in Silence
Teaching:
After Mass, Jesus remains truly present in the tabernacle. That’s why Catholics genuflect — we’re not bowing to a symbol but to a Person.
Eucharistic Adoration is time spent face-to-face with Jesus, silent but powerful.
Matthew 28:20 – “Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
CCC 1378 – “In the liturgy of the Mass we express our faith in the real presence… by genuflecting and bowing deeply.”
Reflection:
In silence, Jesus speaks most clearly.
Ask yourself:
Have I ever sat before the tabernacle or monstrance quietly?
What might Jesus want to tell me there?
Challenge:
Spend ten minutes this week in Adoration or quiet prayer in church. Say simply:
“Jesus, I believe You are here.”
Day 5 – Living the Eucharist
Teaching:
The Mass doesn’t end with “Go in peace.” It sends us out to live the love we’ve received.
We become what we eat — living tabernacles of Christ in the world.
John 13:34 – “Love one another as I have loved you.”
CCC 1397 – “The Eucharist commits us to the poor.”
Reflection:
If Jesus gives Himself to me at Mass, I must give myself to others.
Ask yourself:
Who needs Christ’s love through me this week?
How can I bring what happens at Mass into my daily life?
Weekend Wrap-Up – What We Learned
The Eucharist is Jesus Himself — not a symbol.
The Mass makes the Cross present.
Communion unites us to Christ and strengthens us.
Adoration helps us recognise His presence.
We are sent to live what we receive.
Reflection prompts:
“What would change in my life if I really believed Jesus is present?”
“How can I make Mass the centre of my week?”
Journal Prompts
“The moment I feel closest to Christ at Mass is…”
“The strength I receive from Communion helps me to…”
“I want to spend more time with Jesus by…”
Apologetics for Teens
“It’s just bread.”
→ Wrong. Jesus said “This is My Body.” The Church has believed His words literally since the first century.
“Mass is boring.”
→ Only if you don’t know what’s happening. Heaven meets earth; Jesus becomes present — that’s not boring, that’s awe.
“You can be spiritual without Mass.”
→ The Eucharist isn’t optional spirituality — it’s communion with God Himself. Without it, faith starves.
