CHILDREN’S DAILY FAITH (Ages 5–10)

How to use this at home:
• Sit with your child for 3–5 minutes.
• Read the “Teaching” aloud.
• Ask one question.
• Say the short prayer together.


MONDAY 2 FEBRUARY – The Presentation of the Lord

Meeting the Light

Opening Prayer
Jesus,
thank You for loving us.
Help us see You
and follow Your light.
Amen.

Teaching (read aloud)
Mary and Joseph take baby Jesus to the Temple.
An old man named Simeon is waiting.

When he sees Jesus, he is very happy.
He says Jesus is a light for the whole world.

Light helps us see.
Jesus helps us see how to love God
and how to love others.

When we are baptised,
Jesus’ light comes into our lives.

Scripture
“A light for revelation to the nations.” (Luke 2:32)

Ask your child
What does light help us do?
How does Jesus help us?

Little Practice
Light a candle and say:
“Jesus, be my light.”

Closing Prayer
Thank You, Jesus,
for being our light.
Help us follow You.
Amen.


TUESDAY 3 FEBRUARY – Saint Blaise

Trusting God When We Are Ill or Afraid

Opening Prayer
Jesus,
thank You for loving us.
Help us trust You
when we feel poorly or scared.
Amen.

Teaching
Saint Blaise prayed for sick people.
Today we ask God to bless our throats.

Being ill is not nice.
Being scared is not nice.

But Jesus stays close to us
when we are worried or hurt.

When we are baptised,
we belong to Jesus always.

Scripture
“Do not be afraid; only believe.” (Mark 5:36)

Ask your child
Who helps you when you feel ill?
Who helps you when you are scared?

Little Practice
Say together:
“Jesus, help me trust You.”

Thank You, Jesus,
for staying close to us.

WEDNESDAY 4 FEBRUARY – Saint Gilbert of Sempringham

Trusting God Instead of Ourselves

Opening Prayer
God our Father,
help us trust You
and not just ourselves.
Amen.

Teaching
Saint Gilbert was a kind priest.
He trusted God to help him do good things.

He did not try to be important.
He tried to be faithful.

God likes when we ask for help.
When we are baptised,
we are never alone.

Scripture
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” (Proverbs 3:5)

Ask your child
When do you need help?
Who helps you?

Little Practice
Say:
“God, help me trust You.”

for always helping us.

THURSDAY 5 FEBRUARY – Saint Agatha

Being Brave and Faithful

Opening Prayer
Jesus,
thank You for loving us.
Help us stay close to You.
Amen.

Teaching
Saint Agatha loved Jesus very much.
She stayed faithful even when it was hard.

Being brave does not mean being loud.
It means doing what is right.

When we are baptised,
we belong to Jesus.
He helps us choose what is good.

Scripture
“Be strong and courageous.” (Joshua 1:9)

Ask your child
When is it hard to do the right thing?
Who helps you choose what is good?

“Jesus, help me be faithful.”

FRIDAY 6 FEBRUARY – Saint Paul Miki and Companions

Not Hiding Our Faith

Opening Prayer
Jesus,
thank You for loving us.
Help us show Your love to others.
Amen.

Teaching
Saint Paul Miki told people about Jesus.
He did not hide his faith,
even when it was dangerous.

We show Jesus by being kind,
by being honest,
and by loving others.

When we are baptised,
we belong to Jesus
and try to live like Him.

Scripture
“Go and tell the Good News.” (Mark 16:15)

Ask your child
How can we show Jesus’ love today?
Who needs kindness?

Do one kind thing for someone today.

SATURDAY 7 FEBRUARY – Asking for the Right Gift

Asking God for Wisdom

Opening Prayer
God our Father,
help us make good choices.
Amen.

Teaching
God asked King Solomon what he wanted.
Solomon did not ask for toys or gold.
He asked for wisdom.

Wisdom helps us choose
what is kind and good.

God likes when we ask for help.

Scripture
“Give your servant an understanding heart.” (1 Kings 3:9)

Ask your child
What do you ask God for?
What helps you choose what is right?

Say:
“God, help me choose good.”

SUNDAY 8 FEBRUARY – Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Living as Light

Opening Prayer
Jesus,
thank You for loving us.
Help us shine with Your love.
Amen.

Teaching
Jesus says we are the light of the world.
Light helps people see.

When we are kind,
when we forgive,
when we help others,
we shine like a light.

Jesus’ light shines through us
when we love like Him.

Scripture
“You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14)

Ask your child
How can we be light this week?
Who needs kindness?

Little Practice
Choose one way to shine today
by being kind or helpful.
