MONDAY – Obeying God Brings Healing
Naaman Learns to Be Humble
Opening Prayer
God our Father,
help us listen to You
and trust You.
Amen.
Teaching
Naaman was a great soldier,
but he was very sick.
He wanted God to heal him in a big and exciting way.
But God told him to wash in an ordinary river.
Naaman felt angry because it seemed too simple.
But when he obeyed God,
he was healed.
Jesus tells us that God’s help
does not always come in big signs.
Sometimes it comes when we obey quietly.
God helps us when we listen,
not when we try to control Him.
Scripture
“Go and wash… and you will be clean.” (2 Kings 5)
Ask your child
When is it hard to obey?
How can we listen to God today?
Little Practice
Try to obey quickly today without complaining.
Closing Prayer
God,
help me obey You
even when it is hard.
Amen.
TUESDAY – Forgiving as God Forgives Us
Mercy Must Be Shared
Opening Prayer
Jesus,
thank You for forgiving us.
Help us forgive others.
Amen.
Teaching
Azariah prayed to God and said sorry for his people.
He trusted that God is kind and forgiving.
Jesus tells a story about a man who was forgiven a huge debt.
But that man would not forgive someone else.
God wants us to forgive
because He forgives us first.
If we keep anger in our hearts,
it makes us unhappy and hard inside.
Forgiving helps our hearts become free again.
Scripture
“Forgive your brother from your heart.” (Matthew 18:35)
Ask your child
Who do you need to forgive?
Why is forgiving important?
Little Practice
Say: “Jesus, help me forgive.”
Closing Prayer
Jesus,
help me forgive
like You forgive me.
Amen.
WEDNESDAY – God’s Rules Help Us Live
Listening and Remembering
Opening Prayer
God our Father,
thank You for teaching us
how to live.
Amen.
Teaching
Moses told the people to remember God’s laws
and to teach them to their children.
God’s rules are not to make us sad.
They are to help us live close to Him
and love one another.
Jesus said He did not come to remove God’s rules
but to help us live them.
When we forget God’s word,
we forget how to love.
Scripture
“Listen and do what God says.” (Deuteronomy 4)
Ask your child
Where do we learn about God?
How can we remember His word?
Little Practice
Say one prayer from memory today.
Closing Prayer
God,
help me remember
what You teach me.
Amen.
THURSDAY – God Speaks and Frees Us
Choosing to Listen
Opening Prayer
Jesus,
help us hear Your voice
and follow You.
Amen.
Teaching
God told His people to listen to Him,
but many did not want to change.
Jesus healed a man who could not speak.
But some people said bad things about Jesus
instead of believing.
Jesus came to free people from evil
and bring them back to God.
When God speaks to us,
we must choose to listen
and not make excuses.
Scripture
“If it is by God’s power that I heal, then God’s kingdom is here.” (Luke 11)
Ask your child
How does God speak to us?
What happens when we listen?
Little Practice
Listen carefully when someone talks today.
Closing Prayer
Jesus,
help me listen
and follow You.
Amen.
FRIDAY – Loving God with Our Whole Heart
God Wants Love, Not Pretending
Opening Prayer
God our Father,
help us love You
with our whole heart.
Amen.
Teaching
The prophet Hosea said that God wants people to come back to Him.
God does not want pretending.
He wants real love.
Jesus said the most important thing
is to love God
and love other people.
Going to church is important,
but God also wants us to be kind,
honest,
and loving at home.
Scripture
“Love the Lord your God… and love your neighbour.” (Mark 12)
Ask your child
How can we show love today?
Who needs kindness?
Little Practice
Do one loving thing today on purpose.
Closing Prayer
God,
help me love You
with all my heart.
Amen.
SATURDAY – Being Humble Before God
God Loves a Sorry Heart
Opening Prayer
Jesus,
help us be humble
and honest with You.
Amen.
Teaching
Jesus told a story about two men who prayed.
One said he was very good.
The other said, “God, be kind to me because I am a sinner.”
God loved the man who was sorry
because he told the truth
and trusted God’s mercy.
God wants us to come to Him
when we do wrong
and not pretend we are perfect.
Scripture
“God, be merciful to me, a sinner.” (Luke 18:13)
Ask your child
When do we need to say sorry?
Why is being honest important?
Little Practice
Say sorry for one thing today.
Closing Prayer
God,
thank You for forgiving me.
Amen.
SUNDAY – Laetare Sunday
Jesus Gives Us Light
Opening Prayer
Jesus,
thank You for helping us see
what is good.
Amen.
Teaching
Jesus healed a man who was blind.
For the first time, he could see.
Some people did not want to believe
that Jesus helped him.
Jesus teaches us that
God sees our hearts,
not just our faces.
Jesus is the light of the world.
He helps us see what is right
and how to love.
When we follow Jesus,
we walk in the light
and not in darkness.
Scripture
“I was blind, and now I see.” (John 9:25)
Ask your child
What does Jesus help us see?
How can we walk in His light?
Little Practice
Say: “Jesus, help me see what is good.”
Closing Prayer
Jesus,
thank You for being our light.
Amen.
