Intercessions – Divine Mercy Sunday

Priest: Brothers and sisters, on this Divine Mercy Sunday, as the risen Lord stands among His disciples and speaks His peace, let us place our prayers before the Father with trust and humility.

Reader: For the Church throughout the world:
that she may proclaim with confidence the mercy of Christ, and bring many sinners to the peace and forgiveness that flow from His wounded Heart.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For the nations of the world and those who govern them:
that the risen Lord may turn hearts from violence and division, and lead peoples and nations into the ways of justice, peace, and truth.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For those burdened by sin, fear, doubt, or shame:
that they may not be afraid to come into the light of Christ’s mercy, and receive the healing and forgiveness He longs to give.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For the sick, the suffering, and those who feel forgotten or alone:
that the Lord who showed His wounds to His disciples may strengthen them, comfort them, and fill them with hope.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For this parish community:
that in receiving the mercy of the risen Christ, we may become a people marked by peace, trust, and readiness to forgive one another.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: Let us now pause and offer in silence the prayers we hold in our hearts.
(silent prayer)

Reader: Let us entrust these prayers to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Hail Mary…

Priest:

Father of mercy,
in your risen Son
you have opened for us
the fountain of forgiveness and peace.
Hear the prayers we make in faith,
and keep us always close
to the mercy of Christ,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
