Intercessions, 12th Sunday of Ordinary Time, 21st June

Priest: Brothers and sisters, the Lord tells us: “Do not be afraid.” Trusting in the Father’s loving care for His children, let us bring our prayers before Him.

Reader: For the holy Catholic Church:
that she may proclaim the Gospel with courage, never fearing opposition, and faithfully bear witness to Christ before the world.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For our Holy Father, Pope Leo, Bishop Patrick, priests, deacons, and all who preach the Gospel:
that strengthened by the Holy Spirit, they may lead God’s people in truth, holiness, and hope.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For Christians who suffer persecution throughout the world:
that they may remain steadfast in faith and know the strength and consolation of Christ.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For our nation and all who hold public office:
that they may govern with wisdom, integrity, and a sincere concern for justice and the common good.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For those burdened by anxiety, fear, loneliness, or uncertainty about the future:
that they may place their trust in the Lord who knows and loves each one of His children.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For the sick, the housebound, and all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit:
that the Lord’s healing presence may bring them strength, peace, and comfort.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For our parish community:
that we may acknowledge Christ before others with confidence and live as faithful witnesses to His saving love.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For the faithful departed:
that having shared in Christ’s victory over sin and death, they may rejoice forever in the kingdom of heaven.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: Let us now offer our own prayers in silence. (pause)

Reader: Let us ask the prayers of Our Lady, Help of Christians.

All: Hail Mary…

Priest: Heavenly Father, You are our refuge and our strength. Hear the prayers we offer with confidence and grant them according to Your holy will. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
