Collection of Peter’s Pence: let’s help the Pope in His mission!  On Sunday 28th June, Saints Peter and Paul Day, the traditional Peter’s Pence collection takes place.  This is a concrete way to support the Holy Father Pope Leo XIV in his mission of service to the universal Church, and of solidarity with his mission to bring the Gospel throughout the world.  To support this initiative, the Secretariat for the Economy and the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See have prepared informational and multimedia materials to illustrate its significance, available at: www.ObolodiSanPietro.va  As every year, every offering – large or small – will support the Holy Father in his ministry and in his charitable activities in response to emergencies and needs around the world.

Anyone aged 18-35 is warmly invited to the Young Adult Summer BBQ on Saturday 4th July at Saint Joseph’s Church, Burton Road, Derby.  Starting with Mass at 12.30pm, the event costs £5(supporting the World Youth Day 2027 Fund), and booking is essential via this link: Young Adult Summer BBQ – Fill in form or the QR code on the poster.

All are welcome to join Father John Church OP, a Dominican from Leicester, for an evening of reflection and conversation as part of the ongoing ‘Go Make Disciples’ initiative, on Monday 13th July at 7.00pm at Saint Barnabas Cathedral, Nottingham.  Many are familiar with diocesan priests, but Father John will share his experience of life in the Dominican Order and the journey that led him to respond to God’s call.  There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion, followed by refreshments and fellowship.  All are very welcome.

The National Justice and Peace Network’s annual conference takes place between Friday 24th and Sunday 26th July, based on the theme ‘Just Talk’.  A limited number of places for young adults (18-35) are available at a cost of £150 for the weekend, on a first come first served basis.  More details are available on the website: Conference | National Justice & Peace Network
