Intercessions, 14th Sunday of Ordinary Time, 5th July

Priest: Brothers and sisters, Jesus invites all who labour and are overburdened to come to Him and find rest. Trusting in His gentle and humble Heart, let us bring our prayers before the Father.

Reader: For the holy Catholic Church:
that she may faithfully proclaim the Gospel of salvation and lead all people to the peace and rest found in Christ.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For Pope Leo, Bishop Patrick, priests, deacons, and all who serve the Church:
that they may be strengthened by the Holy Spirit and guide God’s people with wisdom, humility, and compassion.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For our nation and all who hold positions of responsibility:
that they may seek justice, uphold the dignity of every human person, and work for the good of all.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For those who are burdened by anxiety, loneliness, grief, or uncertainty:
that they may hear the voice of Christ calling them to Himself and find comfort in His loving presence.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For parents, teachers, and all who hand on the faith to the next generation:
that they may be faithful witnesses to Christ and help young people grow in wisdom, faith, and holiness.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For those who are away from the Church or struggling in their faith:
that the Lord may touch their hearts with His grace and draw them back to the joy of His friendship.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For the sick, the housebound, and all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit:
that Christ the Healer may grant them strength, peace, and hope.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: For the faithful departed:
that having completed their earthly pilgrimage, they may rejoice forever in the kingdom of heaven.
Lord, hear us.

Reader: Let us now offer our own prayers in silence. (pause)

Reader: Let us ask the prayers of Our Lady, Help of Christians.
All: Hail Mary…

Priest: Heavenly Father, your Son is gentle and humble of heart and gives rest to all who come to Him. Hear the prayers we make with confidence and grant them according to your holy will. Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.
