Priest: Brothers and sisters, trusting in Christ who desires that none should be lost, let us bring before the Father the needs of the Church and of the whole world.
Reader: For the holy Catholic Church, that she may proclaim the truth with courage and charity, calling sinners to conversion and always keeping open the way of reconciliation and mercy. Lord, hear us.
For our Holy Father, Pope Leo, for Bishop Patrick, and for all bishops, priests and deacons, that they may be faithful watchmen, never afraid to teach the fullness of the faith and always seeking the salvation of the souls entrusted to them. Lord, hear us.
For those who govern the nations, that they may seek what is truly good, protect the weak, uphold justice, and exercise authority with wisdom and responsibility. Lord, hear us.
For families and friendships wounded by disagreement, resentment or sin, that Christ may give us the humility to speak honestly, the patience to listen, and the grace to forgive and be reconciled. Lord, hear us.
For those who have drifted from the practice of the faith, from prayer or from the Sacraments, that someone may have the courage to reach out to them, and that they may rediscover the mercy of Christ and the joy of returning home. Lord, hear us.
For parents, godparents, teachers and all who have responsibility for others, that they may understand that true love sometimes requires correction, and may always unite truth with patience, gentleness and good example. Lord, hear us.
For the sick, the lonely, the discouraged, and all who carry heavy burdens, that they may know the presence of Christ and receive strength through the prayer and practical charity of others. Lord, hear us.
For our relatives, friends and benefactors who have died, and for all the faithful departed, especially those who have no one to pray for them, that through the mercy of God they may be cleansed from every sin and brought into the joy of Heaven. Lord, hear us.
For a few moments, let us pray silently for those whose salvation and needs are especially upon our hearts. Silence.
Let us ask the prayers of Our Lady, Refuge of Sinners and Mother of Mercy, as together we say: Hail Mary, full of grace…
Priest: Almighty and merciful Father,
you call us to love one another in truth
and never to abandon those who wander from you.
Hear the prayers we offer,
give us courage to speak when love requires it,
humility to receive correction ourselves,
and hearts that desire above all the salvation of souls.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
