Intercessions for the 30th Sunday of Ordinary Time, 25th October

Priest: Brothers and sisters, called to love the Lord our God with all our heart and our neighbour as ourselves, let us bring our prayers before Him with confidence.

Reader:

For the holy Catholic Church, for the Pope, our Bishop, and all bishops, priests and deacons: that they may lead God’s people in love of Him and in faithful service of those entrusted to their care.
Lord, hear us.

For the nations of the world and those entrusted with authority: that they may protect the poor, the stranger, the vulnerable and all whose dignity is easily forgotten or exploited.
Lord, hear us.

For our parish community: that our love for God may be seen in patience, generosity, forgiveness and practical care for those around us, especially those most in need.
Lord, hear us.

For those burdened by sickness, anxiety, poverty, loneliness or grief: that they may know the compassion of Christ and receive the help, friendship and support they need.
Lord, hear us.

For our deceased relatives, friends and benefactors, and for all the faithful departed: that, having sought to love God and neighbour in this life, they may be welcomed into the joy of His presence for ever.
Lord, hear us.

In a moment of silence, we bring before God the intentions we carry in our hearts.

Silence.

Let us ask the prayers of Our Blessed Lady as we say together:

Hail Mary…

Priest:

Almighty and merciful Father,
You command us to love You with our whole heart
and our neighbour as ourselves.
Hear the prayers we make before You,
fill us with Your grace,
and teach us to recognise and serve Christ
in all those You place before us.
Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
